Beyond The Sunset

Growing up poor, with strict parents (dad was & Is still a Baptist Deacon) & alot of sadness ,some fond memories, but some sad & bad memories also.

As a child I was sexually molested from ages 4-10 yrs old..... Suffered physcial & emotional abuse also.

My mom was mentally ill, when I was 3yrs old I can remember her taking a rifle off the wall & trying to kill herself.... my brother stopped her...she spent time in a mental hospital & recieved 8 electro-shock treatments, was given meds also...still at 83 yrs old taking them...

I use to blame my mom for the sexual abuse I endured as a child (now in hind sight I can see mom was ill, mentally ill)..My mom was a very nervous & highly to anger woman... I recieved physcial & emotional abuse at the hands of my mom up until I left home at 16 yrs of age...

The reason for leaving home ,I became pregnant with my 1st child (my oldest daughter (Raquel.now 31 yrs old), mom made my boyfriend & I marry ,May 28th,1972, So I became a wife, then a mother Jan 22nd,1973(the day after my 17th birthday)..... My marriage only lasted 2 yrs..(did anyone expect it to..we were only kids ourself),.....I then had to return home to my aggressive mom's home.. God help! My mom decided I wasn't old enough or good enough to raise Raquel so she took her from me, (never gained custody though..I did keep that!)

After a few unbearable years with mom, I finally at 19 yrs old moved into my own apartment, worked in a local factory...Mom kept my baby though)......While employed at the factory..3rd shift..I was raped by my boss.

In 1980, I met & married my second husband...moved to the next small town & had 2 beautiful children by him....#1-daughter- Heather, born-Jan 28th, 1981... #2- only son,Joshua.. born Dec 1, 1982. It was a rocky marriage... while I was in labor with my son (Josh)..& just after delivering my hubby a son..he ask me for a divorce while in the recovery room of hospital!! Major depression for me...remained in hospital for 6 days..

Moving along...Finally my 2 youngest children & I moved into a 2 bedroom apartment & I remained at home with my children until they both had started school... Only then I went to work as a waitress at a local resturant...of which I remained working for 10 yrs... resturant closed & then I became employed at a local convience store as a cashier..

During my time as a single mom... I remet & fell in love with a friend of mine for 11 yrs...We married Aug. 16th ,1991..And remain to this day married..almost 13 years now!
